What a buying house in Bangladesh does — and how Seamvector runs an order

A buying house is the buyer's agent in the country. It does the sourcing, costing, factory match, merchandising, quality checks, logistics and documents on the buyer's behalf, and its fee is paid as its own line.

Seamvector is an apparel buying house in Dhaka, founded in 2026. This page sets out what a buying house does and does not do, and how one of our orders runs step by step, with what you receive at each step.

What a buying house does (and does not)

A buying house sits between an overseas buyer and Bangladeshi factories. It picks factories against the tech pack, runs costing and sampling, follows production and inspection, and handles the shipping documents, so the buyer does not manage each factory separately.

A buying house is not a factory: it does not sew the garments itself. Nor does it decide the design or the product on the buyer's behalf — the tech pack stays the buyer's.

Why buyers use one in Bangladesh

The reasons are practical: language, distance, audits and follow-up on the floor. A buyer gets one accountable contact and one record instead of several separate factory relationships.

If you already have a factory you trust, going direct is reasonable, and we can also run it for you as a nominated factory.

How an order runs at Seamvector

An order runs in nine steps, and at each one you receive something in hand.

1. Tech pack: a numbered query list and a feasibility note, within one business day.

2. Costing and factory match: a costing breakdown and the proposed factory, with its current audit status and report date.

3. Sampling: a photographed sample review and the full comment history per style.

4. Pre-production: a PP approval pack with lab dip and trim approvals dated.

5. Inline production: a daily production report — plus an exception the day the calendar slips, not at the next report.

6. Pre-final inspection: a pre-final assessment report with photo evidence, the defects found and the rework agreed.

7. Final inspection: an inspection report with photo evidence and the measurement record.

8. Test reporting and quality documentation: the lab test reports and the quality document pack, on the style's record before shipment.

9. Shipment and documents: CI, PL, BL, COO and the full pack; ETD confirmed.

What is different about Seamvector

One record per style; every check carries a time; delays are reported the day they become likely. Software reads the tech pack and watches the calendar; people make the calls — which factory, which fix, which delay to flag.

The limit, plainly: Seamvector was founded in 2026, so there is no order history to show. The method is the proof: a timestamped record for every style that you can check yourself on your first order.

Which categories

We source eight categories: workwear and PPE, gloves and hand protection, leather goods and footwear, lingerie, woven, knitwear, denim and outerwear. Each has its own page, reachable from the categories on the home page.

For anything else, send the tech pack and we tell you whether a capable factory exists. General questions are answered in the FAQ on the home page.

How to start

Send the tech pack, or a reference garment and target price. You get a numbered query list and a feasibility note within one business day; costing follows once the queries are closed.

What buyers ask before a first order

What is the difference between a buying house and a factory?

A factory makes the garments. A buying house works for the buyer — it picks the factory and handles costing, sampling, production follow-up, inspection and documents. Seamvector does not make garments itself.

What happens between sending a tech pack and the first costing?

The pack is read the day it lands. Within one business day you get a numbered query list and a feasibility note. Costing follows once the queries are closed, with the proposed factory.

How will I know if an order is running late?

During production you get a daily production report, and an exception the day the calendar slips rather than at the next report. Delays are reported the day they become likely.

What do I have in hand at the end of an order?

The inspection report with photo evidence and the measurement record, the lab test reports and quality document pack, and the full document set for your bank and customs — CI, PL, BL and COO.

Who will I deal with at Seamvector?

A named person answers your email. Software keeps the record; people make the decisions.
